Confessions of a Pepsi Addict.
Well, it has now been 2 weeks since I have "made the change'. Lemme fill you in on some background. I have been at my current job for about 10 months now, prior to this job I had given up caffeinated beverages for a whole 4 months. I did this, but trust me, it was hard. I still had mental cravings for Pepsi.
Fast forward to February... new job in a Web Hosting Company call center/technical support environment. Started drinking Pepsis again for the boost/lift or maybe even just from the stress. Not a good thing, especially now that I am in my 30s and my metabolism has slowed down, I just didn't need the extra 750-1000 extra calories a day from my beloved Pepsi.
Fast forward to today. I have now "made the change", and by that I mean switched to Diet Pepsi. Takes out the calories, and leaves the caffeine. I have heard from several diet drinkers that you "get used to the taste, and the regular stuff tastes funny". I hope this is true, and if it is I would just like to know how long it takes. Right now Diet still has a funny aftertaste, and after finishing one I am still unsatisfied in some way. I want another almost immediately whereas with the regular Pepsi I had a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction after finishing one.
I have almost gotten used to the aftertaste, but not completely. I still feel unsatisfied after finishing one.. but not as much anymore so I would say I am at least halfway through the change. I have found fountain Diet Pepsi does not taste as bad as canned or bottled Diet Pepsi.
I am hoping that I will start seeing a benefit of the reduced caloric intake soon.
